About NOWHERE BUT HERE: An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Hand rider on handlebars, close-up

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down. No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

An EXCLUSIVE Excerpt of NOWHERE BUT HERE:

From Oz's Point of View. Set up: Emily has been separated from her parents and after a long night of worrying, her emotions and exhaustion catch up to her and it causes Oz to have his first fluttering of emotion for Emily.

WIND BLOWS IN FROM THE NORTH AND A FEW pieces of Emily’s dark hair sweep across her face. One minute Emily’s a bright flame, then a gust snuffs out her light. Her body sways like a top at the tail end of a spin and I lunge forward.
Emily’s knees give out and her eyes roll back into her head. I catch her inches before she crashes onto the porch. She’s light as I swing her into my arms and her head circles onto my shoulder, reminding me of one of those rag dolls Violet used to play with when we were kids.
“Emily!” Eli’s on top of me, attempting to yank her out of my arms. “Open your eyes.”
Her eyelids flutter, but remain closed as her hand limply clutches my shirt. Eli rams his arms underneath mine and he makes Emily a rope in a tug-of-war. I should let her go. I should want to let her go, but then Emily goes and screws it up for me. “Oz.”
It was a damn whisper, but I heard my name on her lips and so did Eli. His eyes flash to mine and Cyrus’s words repeat in my mind. That girl trusts you. And screw us both for that.
“She’s exhausted,” I say. “Hasn’t slept at all tonight.”
Eli’s expression hardens as he glares at me. I’ve seen Eli throw a coma-inducing punch for less defiance and I readjust the sleeping girl in my arms. A reminder if he decks me now, he’ll be putting his daughter at risk.
Temporarily surrendering, Eli cups Emily’s face in his hands and angles her toward him. “Emily, please open your eyes.”
She does. It’s barely a crack and they’re completely glazed.
“Everything’s going to be okay,” Eli affirms.
“I want my mom and dad,” she mumbles.
“You’ll see them tomorrow.” Eli pushes a strand of hair from her cheek. “You’re safe here. I promise.”
She rejects Eli by curling into me. Her head fits perfectly in the crook of my neck and I loathe the wave of protectiveness that rumbles through my body. Emily’s fingers tighten their grip near my shoulders and the impulse is to shield her from the guys gawking at this intimate scene. Yeah, this is club business, but Emily never asked for any of this.

All Broke Down (Rusk University #2) & All Played Out (Rusk Universtiy #3) by Cora Carmack

SummaryIn this second book in New York Times and USA Todaybestselling author Cora Carmack s New Adult, Texas-set Rusk University series, which began with All Lined Up, a young woman discovers that you can't only fight for what you believe in... sometimes you have to fight for what you love.

Dylan fights for lost causes. Probably because she used to be one.

Environmental issues, civil rights, corrupt corporations, and politicians you name it, she's probably been involved in a protest. When her latest cause lands her in jail overnight, she meets Silas Moore. He's in for a different kind of fighting. And though he's arrogant and infuriating, she can't help being fascinated with him. Yet another lost cause.

Football and trouble are the only things that have ever come naturally to Silas. And it's trouble that lands him in a cell next to do-gooder Dylan. He's met girls like her before fixers, he calls them, desperate to heal the damage and make him into their ideal boyfriend. But he doesn't think he's broken, and he definitely doesn't need a girlfriend trying to change him. Until, that is, his anger issues and rash decisions threaten the only thing he really cares about: his spot on the Rusk University football team. Dylan might just be the perfect girl to help.

Because Silas Moore needs some fixing after all. (Via Goodreads.com)

SummaryFirst person in her family to go to college? CHECK.
Straight A’s? CHECK.
On track to graduate early? CHECK.
Social life? …..yeah, about that….

With just a few weeks until she graduates, Antonella DeLuca’s beginning to worry that maybe she hasn’t had the full college experience. (Okay... Scratch that. She knows she hasn't had the full college experience).

So Nell does what a smart, dedicated girl like herself does best. She makes a "to do" list of normal college activities.

Item #1? Hook up with a jock.

Rusk University wide receiver Mateo Torres practically wrote the playbook for normal college living. When he’s not on the field, he excels at partying, girls, and more partying. As long as he keeps things light and easy, it's impossible to get hurt... again. But something about the quiet, shy, sexy-as-hell Nell gets under his skin, and when he learns about her list, he makes it his mission to help her complete it.

Torres is the definition of confident (And sexy. And wild), and he opens up a side of Nell that she's never known. But as they begin to check off each crazy, exciting, normal item, Nell finds that her frivolous list leads to something more serious than she bargained for. And while Torres is used to taking risks on the field, he has to decide if he's willing to take the chance when it's more than just a game.

Together they will have to decide if what they have is just part of the experiment or a chance at something real.

Review:

The Rusk University series has officially become my new favorite New Adult series. There are simply not enough words in the English language to describe how much I love this series. I can't get enough of Cora's humor, romance and swoon worthy guys. The Rusk University series and Cora Carmack have become my new addiction.

Cora gives her characters so much depth. Most authors have characters that are easily scratched at to reveal their secrets, but not Cora. Cora creates amazing characters that have so much more to them than what is on the surface or what they reveal about themselves. It is so rewarding to learn her characters pasts and piece together who they are as the characters do it themselves.

Trying to pick your favorite Rusk University guy is torture. In All Lined Up, Cora introduces us to us Carson, the compassionate, respectful leader of the group that has a boy-next-door feel. Then, in All Broke Down, Cora gives us Silas, the player/bad-boy figure that is so much more than anyone expected. Next, in All Played Out, Cora gives us Torres, who is the playful and flirty free spirit that could be described as the class-clown. Not only is it hard picking my favorite out of those three, I can't imagine how much harder it is going to be once Cora introduces the rest of her boys in the books to follow in the Rusk University series; I do not know if my heart can contain all of it's joy.

I can't leave out the lovely leading ladies. Dallas from All Lined Up is most definitely my red-headed soul sister. We both have all our ducks lined up when it comes to our future, but the slightest change can have us in an uproar. Dallas and I both have the tendency to fall, but while she is caught by a hot quarterback, concrete breaks my fall. On the other hand, All Broke Down's Dylan would be my go-to-girl for community service hours. Not only would she be a fun addition to a community project, we could all admire beautiful Silas. Lastly, but certainly not least, we have All Played Out's Nell who would be my twin. Nell and I both have trouble getting outside of our comfort zones, let alone our houses. Like Nell, I am focused on studying and whatever else could potentially help my career; however my social life is nonexistent as well. The only difference between us is I do not have Torres helping me become social, I hope she has created a waiting list for his help....Put me on the top!!

I absolutely loved the Rusk University series, it is full of humor, romance, sass, and hot guys. Did I mention hot guys yet? The Rusk University series is easy to fly through; the simplest comparison I can think of is when you are eating a bag of chips and continue to eat them until your hand reaches the bottom of the bag and to your dismay, there are no more chips left. I am so excited for the next Rusk University novel, All Closed Off, which is expected to be released sometime in 2016, so if you do not mind me, I will be waiting at my mailbox until it arrives.

All Lined Up (Rusk University #1) by Cora Carmack

SummaryNew York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel. (Via Goodreads.com)

Review:

This past February I had the wonderful opportunity to meet author Cora Carmack at ApollyCon. I had been eyeing her book, Inspire, for months but I had already maxed out on my holiday gift cards and I told myself that I did not need anymore books on my TBR (but really, when has that ever stopped me?). Anyway, over the last couple months, I began to hear a lot of hype over her Rusk University series since the release date of the third book in the series, All Played Out, was quickly approaching. I decided to participate in the Twitter chat for All Played Out and not only did I have a fantastic time, but I was hooked on the series. I started reading the first Rusk University novel, All Lined Up, a couple weeks ago with a girl on Twitter and it became so hard to stop reading at our assigned stopping points because all I wanted to do was continue reading.

Even though I had heard so much amazing hype surrounding the series, I was still a bit nervous going into All Lined Up because I am not a huge fan of sports. If you are currently in the same boat as I once was, I command you to leap from that boat because there should be nothing holding you back from this series. The Rusk University series is
extremely addictive; read one page and you are in love.

Cora Carmack has such a phenomenal writing style. When I started All Lined Up, I was a bit nervous at how much humor and sarcasm Cora was including because it can easily become overwhelming. But, I never felt as though All Lined Up was dragging me under a dark sarcasm current; the story and narration were always crisp and alive. Both Carson and Dallas have two distinct voices that had me literally dying of laughter, at times.

I am starting to run out of room on my favorite book-boyfriend list, but for characters like Carson, I can always make an exception. Typically, I groan when a character, especially guys, are classified as "nice". I can count on one hand how many times the definition of "nice" by authors has actually been correct; however, Carson was not that case. Carson is an absolute sweetheart. He is charming, responsible, respectful and a million other positive adjectives.

I loved the friendship Cora created between Stella and Dallas. Stella and Dallas are definitely two opposite sides of a coin, but they work so well together; Stella is able to get Dallas out of her shell and Dallas is able to keep Stella in hers. At times, their interactions made me laugh so hard.

I may not be a huge sports fan, but I am still a team player. I know from experience that being on a team is a once in a lifetime experience. I was a member of my school's Track & Field team and, although I was not always a fan of running, my teammates made up for it. It is so hard to describe the feeling of being on a team. It makes you feel accepted and wanted by a group of people that you may have never met otherwise. Being on a team is an amazing experience. I have a hard time describing the feeling, but Cora Carmack is able to embody the feeling in her books. The football team at Rusk University may not always get along, but they are a family and they always will be.

Cora Carmack's All Lined Up features the perfect amount sass, humor, romance, memorable quotes and swoon worthy guys. I highly recommend the series. The only question I had after reading was, what ever happened to the list Carson and Dallas were going to create together?

Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.

Twenty-four-year-old River Delaney is rattled. No one was supposed to get hurt. But then that American tourist showed up. He couldn't let her die, but he also couldn’t risk being identified at the scene—so, he ran. Back to his everyday life of running his family’s pub. Only, everyday life is getting more and more complicated, thanks to his brother, Aengus, and his criminal associations. When the American girl tracks River down, he quickly realizes how much he likes her, how wrong she is for him. And how dangerous it is to have her around. Chasing her off would be the smart move.

Maybe it's because he saved her life, or maybe it's because he's completely different from everything she's left behind, but Amber finds herself chasing after River Delaney. Amber isn’t the kind of girl to chase after anyone.

And River isn't the kind of guy she'd want to catch.

Review:

If you have read at least a couple of my blog posts, you should already know how much I adore Jennifer L. Armentrout. Her writing style is phenomenal and her books are out-of-this-world, both literary and figuratively. Jennifer has a knack for creating swoon worthy guys that instantly top your book boyfriend list, but trust me, there are plenty to go around.

Trust In Me is Jennifer's novel Wait For You in the perspective of Cam. Trust In Me can be read before Wait For You or as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the series in chronological order. Although I read Wait For You in early January, I had forgotten some crucial details and Trust In Me was the perfect refresher. I am excited to continue on with the rest of the series this summer.

I normally cringe at the though of mass-market paperbacks, but Trust In Me is so dainty and adorable, it reminds me of Avery and Cam's relationship.

As a red-head, I am normally on top of the game when it comes to spotting any ginger characters, but I somehow missed out on the fact that Avery is a ginger. I have loved Avery since page one of Wait For You and finding out she is a fellow ginger only made me love her more. Although, I am not always pleased when people make fun of my hair, I was constantly laughing at Cam's ginger jokes.

The dedication in Trust In Me has to be one of the best dedications I have ever read:

This is for all the fans of Cam and his cookies,
who wanted more of our egg-boiling lover boy. Enjoy.

The Cookie Monster is not only an accurate representation of how I eat, but of how quickly I devoured Trust In Me. Trust In Me was the perfect combination of romance, comedy and angst that had me flipping the pages faster than normal. If you were wondering, Trust In Me was just as good as Cam's cookies.

The second book in the series, Diamonds in the Rough, released in November 2014, and the third book, Diamonds are Forever, will be coming out in November 2015. Michelle is active on social media networks and has toured across America to promote her books and encourage high school students to embrace reading and writing.
